Marley sebelumnya pernah memenangkan Grammy Best Reggae Album piala untuk Half Way Tree dan Welcome to Jamrock. Stony Hill dirilis pada bulan Juli 2017.
Album ini bertahan beberapa minggu di atas tangga album Billboard Reggae. Saat ini telah terjual lebih dari 18.000 kopi di Amerika Serikat menurut Nielsen Music.
